BeFrienders

BeFrienders lend a listening ear to those experiencing grief or loss, or other difficult times.It is not intended to be a counseling service, but to provide friendship and a prayerful, caring presence through active listening. Training is provided in areas of grief and loss, spirituality, listening, confidentiality and communications.

The group meets at 6:30 pm on the third Monday of each month in the multi-purpose room (Parish Center). These small group gatherings provide peer support and ensure accountability of BeFrienders. This is a caring - not a curing - ministry.

There is a commissioning and re-commissioning ceremony each year for BeFrienders. A memorial dinner for deceased BeFrienders / BeFriendees is held each spring.
